HR Manager
Itaka Hungary is a 3-year-old tour operator owned by a leading travel company in Central Europe. We are a team of 30 and growing, hungry to disrupt the market with new destinations, friendly customer service and innovative technology, working from our beautiful office overlooking Danube.
We’re looking for an experienced HR professional to join our team. You will be the first in the HR department and over time will build your own crew. In this role, you will work closely with the CEO and the executive team on employee branding, recruitment, onboarding, training, performance appraisals, company culture, and a lot more, and make Itaka the ultimate destination for top talent in travel industry.

What You’ll Do:
- Import HR best practices and systems from our grown-up sister-companies in Poland and Czech
- Attract the best talent and design programs that support growth and retention
- For our customer-facing staff, develop the best possible training program
- Oversee compensation, benefits, compliance and HR systems to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Cultivate a workplace where collaboration, creativity and high performance thrive
- Bring bold ideas to the table
You’ve got:
- 5 years of HR experience, ideally in fast-paced industries (travel, hospitality, tech, or similar is a plus)
- Aversion to bulls*it, a strong common sense and a pragmatic no-nonsense approach
- Track record in delivering measurable results
- Proven expertise in talent acquisition, training programs development, and organizational design
- A natural culture builder with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- University degree
- Excellent written and spoken English
